Welcome to Growth Train and My Podcast!
I am excited to introduce this new venture, the foundation of Growth Train and my podcast This Educator Has Questions (coming March 25th to al major podcast servers), which arose to fill a growing need in our society. The working world is changing at a more rapid speed than anything I’ve seen in my 27+ years of experience in education, and we aren’t prepared. I attended the Holdsworth Campus Leadership Program from 2018-2020; we graduated in the midst of the shutdown, and I was so sad for the training to end. From my experience, I saw that the awesome Holdsworth personnel had a perfect pulse on the needs in education and leadership, and the training was top notch.
When we returned from the Covid shutdown back to “normal” operations, I was armed with that wonderful training and ready to put it to use…and then things changed again in unexpected ways. We anticipated the Covid slide, but we didn’t expect the significant turnover of administrators at all levels of leadership, teacher turnover, the release of Open AI, or continued rising tensions in our society.
Now, we are having to be agile in our reaction to ongoing change, resilient in the face of unexpected conflicts and challenges, and ready for a constant upskilling in how we do our jobs. I realized I had more learning to do. So, I enrolled in Harvard Extension School’s Industrial/Organizational Psychology master’s program. I wanted to learn how to respond to these evolving conditions, but more specifically, I wanted to learn how to systematize what I did well in the classroom and as a leader and learn how to improve in the areas providing us the most challenge in our current educational climate. The coursework in his program has given me significant progress in my personal growth, in classroom performance results, in my team performance results, and my leadership development.
I am beyond excited to share my knowledge and skills doing what I most value: lifting up others to achieve at the highest levels individually and organizationally so we can perform at an optimal level in the workplace.
